I prefer to refer to it as “low-hanging fruit.” It’s the simple stuff, of course!
Just sometimes we get so caught up in trying to get a brand new blog post published that we forget there are quick wins for increasing traffic.
As a reminder, I’ve put together a brief list of fast strategies to boost blog traffic for you.
Key Advice on Simple Methods to Increase Blog Traffic
Don’t become fixated on these simple strategies for increasing blog visitors.
They ought to be quick tasks that you carry out once a month or occasionally when you feel like taking a vacation from blogging.
Stop if they start occupying too much of your time.
There are more crucial things to complete. Keep in mind that this is only a minor approach to increase traffic to your blog. It ought to be simple and quick.
Not every one of these traffic-boosting techniques will be effective for you. Maybe there aren’t enough earlier blog postings for a substantial upgrade. Or perhaps you’re uncomfortable being seen on camera (we’ll address that problem in a later piece).
You’ll see an increase in traffic if you take one or two actions.
1. The Sidebar’s Featured Posts
I’ve always believed that having a sidebar for your blog entries is a good idea. It takes very little work and is one of the simplest strategies to increase blog visitors.
By combining an image with a link to a “featured” blog post or a website that you want people to visit, you can draw visitors in.
There will be a slight increase in traffic, but it will still exist.
On this website, this is one of mine!
Here are the actions I suggest you take:
To find out which of your blog posts is receiving more views but is not in the top five, check your metrics in Google Analytics. It’s performing alright but may require a little boost, according to this.
Next, build a “ad” or image with text by going to Canva. It resembles a Pinterest pin somewhat, but the size are appropriate for the sidebar of my theme. (Check the suggested picture sizes for your theme; this keeps it looking centred.)
Along with a link to the URL of the content you wish to promote, add it to your sidebar as an image.
PRO TIP 1: Add your new “image” at the end if your sidebar has a sticky function that keeps your final few widgets or images visible when a user scrolls to the bottom of the post. The reader will keep seeing this as they read the post they were originally sent to.
PRO TIP 2: To keep things interesting and give other excellent blogs a chance to gain more traffic, switch out your highlighted post on the sidebar approximately once a month.
2. Refresh your interlinks monthly
Making ensuring your new blog posts are linked to relevant older ones is one of the finest strategies to increase blog traffic if you’ve just published some new content.
Why? Having earlier blog entries point to your new content is GREAT for SEO.
More page authority exists for older blog entries than for more recent ones. Your old blog entries are telling Google that the new ones are connected and excellent by incorporating links to your new ones.
This increases the visibility of your new blog posts in search engine results and makes them easier for readers of your previous pieces to find.

3. Revisit, republish, and advertise a previous blog entry
You occasionally have fantastic previous blog posts that might only require a quick refresher. Perhaps since you made it a year ago, circumstances have changed.
It might have a little fewer blog traffic or a drop in Google search ranks.
This is one of the best strategies to increase blog visitors without having to produce whole fresh content:
Update a blog post’s headings, content, images, and SEO keywords (adding a few new, fresh ones that flow naturally with what you’ve written).
Republish it (with WordPress, modify the date where it says “Publish” in the section of your blog post editor).
Promote it on all of your social media platforms like a fresh blog post.
New Pinterest pins should be made for it.
I experimented by making two blog postings current. I advertised them on my Facebook page, Facebook group, Twitter, my email newsletter list, and by making new Pinterest pins. I noticed a 10% increase in traffic.

4. Embrace Facebook Groups To Promote Yourself
There are lots of Facebook groups where you can advertise yourself and post the link to your site. One of the simplest ways to boost blog traffic is by doing this.
The Saturday thread in my Facebook group, The Blog It Better Society, is where you can advertise your website, freebie opt-in, service, or digital goods that you’re selling.
When a thread for marketing your website and yourself as an authority figure appears, ADD YOUR LINK and a brief introduction informing readers of the purpose of your website! Do not be timid.
Here is a link to one of my Facebook group’s promotion threads:
For these kinds of threads, I like to do this:
I also include a succinct introduction that summarises my blog’s purpose statement: A site offers advice, information, and courses to assist budding bloggers turn their blogs into profitable online businesses
I then include a link to the MAIN URL of my blog.
This makes it more appealing for the reader to click and visit my website. Since they are already on my home page, they are likely to click through, lengthening their stay.
PRO HINT: Although this is one of the simplest ways to boost blog traffic, take care to read the posting guidelines.
You really shouldn’t post anything about your company if it is related to the owner of the Facebook group unless you have their permission. You wouldn’t want someone to steal your current and prospective customers, now, would you?
5. Create a quick tip video for Instagram or Facebook
Making a brief video clip with a tip or two from one of your blog posts and posting it to your Facebook page or Instagram (or wherever you have a larger audience) is one of the simplest ways to increase blog traffic.
This is something I’m working on for my Instagram account because it’s a great way to both humanise your blog and drive traffic to your posts.
People are always curious about the author of their favourite blogs. One of the best ways for people to decide if they would be interested in working with you if you are a coach or consultant is through video.
So, here’s what you can do to get started:
Consider a blog post about a trending subject that may not be receiving much traffic.
Take one of the advice you offer there and use it to make a one-pager: 1) the situation surrounding any issue your followers may be facing; 2) Your suggestion as a remedy 3) A suggestion to click the link (in your Instagram profile) for more information on this advice and other great ideas.
If you use Instagram, be sure to include your link in your profile.
A straightforward live video on Facebook or IGTV/Reel on Instagram can also be used, as can a pre-recorded video you make in Canva PRO with your branding.
Make sure your description outlines what the viewer can anticipate learning.
A PRO TIP FOR INSTAGRAM: If you use Instagram, make a landing page on your blog specifically for each link you use in posts, reels, or IGTV.
Include it as the primary link in your profile. In this manner, if someone stumbles upon it and wants to learn more, they can click your link, find your site’s page, and then click on the pertinent blog post.
This is yet another quick way to increase the number of page views on your website.
